In my view, we haven’t overtaken mother nature. She sits like a vase on a narrow pedestal and we keep knocking it until eventually the vase will crash down upon us. It will reassemble, but without our future presence. However, yes, we have become a threat to it in the sense that we’ve broken out of the cyclical biology that ruled the planet for millions of years like a video game character that no longer acts in accordance with its code.
Additionally–after my first note–you aren’t negating free will when you say that one has the ability to choose to actualize or not actualize. That seems contradictory to the idea you’ve presented.
